If Whitby could not help you

The Town of Whitby does commission some documents. Its website says: The Town of Whitby offers a Commissioner of Oaths service to have your documents commissioned at Town Hall.

But its published list of what it cannot commission includes:

  • Wills, living wills, codicil to a will
  • Powers of attorney
  • Real estate related documents, statements, transfer of land
  • Divorce, separation, marriage or cohabitation documents or agreements
  • Custody documents
  • Court exhibits
  • Letters of invitation
  • International educational institution or association documents, including photographs
  • Age of Majority/Bring Your Identification (BYID) card application
  • Documents requiring the signature of a notary public

Its published commissioning fee when we checked: Whitby residents $24.75 ($21.90 plus HST) to commission affidavits; non-Whitby residents $36.05 ($31.90 plus HST).

It also says: Your proof of residence is also required.

We can do all of it. Wills, powers of attorney, real estate documents, court documents and anything needing a notarial seal, in person or at your door.
